A 3-Day NYC Adventure with Kids: Day 1 - Midtown Magic
Welcome, fellow adventurers! Are you considering a trip to the Big Apple with your little ones? Look no further for inspiration and tips! Join me as I share our three-day itinerary packed with excitement and memorable moments, perfect for families exploring New York City.
Day 1: Midtown Magic
Thursday morning kicked off with an early flight from YYZ to LGA airport, ensuring we maximized our time in the city. Arriving by 9:30 am, we hopped into a cab headed for our hotel, the Refinery, nestled in the vibrant Midtown area. The hotel staff went above and beyond, setting up a delightful surprise package in our room for my daughter's first NYC visit β balloons, taxi cab cookies, a hat, candle, and even some wine for the grown-ups. It truly set the tone for our adventure!Β
After dropping off our bags, we wasted no time diving into the city buzz. Our first stop? Rockefeller Center, where we soaked in the iconic sights and explored FAO Schwarz, a haven for toy lovers of all ages. Pro tip: With so many options, be prepared for some indecision β we ended up returning for round two to ensure the perfect pick!
Next up, we strolled over to the Plaza Hotel for a delightful high tea experience, opting for the Eloise-themed option tailored for kids. While there, we couldn't resist exploring the Eloise gift shop and perusing the impressive collection at the Assouline book store in the lobby β a bookworm's paradise!
As the day wound down, we indulged in a pre-booked dinner at Nobu 57, a sushi lover's dream. Remember, reservations are a must for this culinary hotspot, so be sure to plan ahead. And as the evening drew to a close, we hailed our first taxi back to the hotel, our step count tallying an impressive 16,000 steps β a testament to the day's adventures.
